Abstract

The environmental crisis is becoming increasingly apparent, with one contributing factor being low levels of environmental awareness, particularly in waste management. Given these trends, it is crucial to foster environmental awareness among all members of society, particularly the Alpha generation. This generation is characterized by practicality, a love of freedom, and high self-confidence. The purpose of this community service program is to instill conceptual understanding and encourage a change in attitudes toward waste among the Alpha generation at the Nurul Huda Madiun Foundation, which still faces issues of cleanliness and inconsistent waste sorting. The community service method used is outreach with an ecotheological approach. This outreach program consists of four stages: preparation (observation and module development), implementation (presentation of Islamic Ecotheology and waste-wise practices), evaluation, and reporting. The results show that this outreach program received high levels of participation from the Alpha generation. Furthermore, there has been a change in attitudes, with the Alpha generation starting to reduce plastic use, one example being the use of tumblers. The ecotheological outreach program has successfully increased the understanding that waste-wise behavior is a form of worship and a tangible manifestation of spiritual responsibility towards the universe. These findings demonstrate that the Ecotheology approach is effective and relevant for Generation Alpha, optimizing their freedom-loving and self-confident character to become agents of environmental change.
