This study aims to examine the role of productive zakat in reducing poverty levels in Madiun Regency through economic empowerment programs implemented by zakat management institutions. The approach used is descriptive qualitative, with data collection techniques including in-depth interviews, observations, and documentation involving zakat institutions and beneficiary mustahik. The results indicate that productive zakat significantly contributes to improving the economic conditions of mustahik, particularly through programs such as the livestock village, which provides business capital in the form of sheep. Although not all mustahik have successfully transitioned into muzakki, the program has proven effective in increasing their income and economic independence. Challenges identified include the lack of continuous mentoring and suboptimal criteria for mustahik selection. This study recommends the need for more intensive monitoring and evaluation systems, as well as enhanced entrepreneurship training to support the success of productive zakat as a sustainable poverty alleviation strategy.
