Peer Review Process

 

All manuscripts submitted to Opinia De Journal: Journal of Islamic Law and Legal Studies undergo a rigorous double-blind peer review process to ensure the quality, originality, and academic integrity of the published work.

 

  1. Initial Screening

 

Upon submission, manuscripts are first reviewed by the editorial team to assess their relevance to the journal's scope, adherence to submission guidelines, and overall academic quality. Manuscripts that do not meet the basic requirements may be rejected at this stage.

 

  1. Double-Blind Peer Review

 

Manuscripts that pass the initial screening are sent to at least two independent reviewers who are experts in the relevant field. The identities of both the authors and reviewers are kept confidential throughout the review process to maintain objectivity and impartiality.

 

  1. Review Criteria

 

Reviewers evaluate the manuscript based on the following criteria:

 

  • Originality and contribution to the field

 

  • Theoretical and methodological rigor

 

  • Clarity of presentation and organization

 

  • Relevance to the journal’s focus on Islamic Law, Legal Systems and Theory, and Law and Technological Advancement

 

  • Accuracy of references and scholarly context

 

Reviewers provide detailed comments and a recommendation to:

 

  • Accept without revisions

 

  • Accept with minor revisions

 

  • Revise and resubmit (major revisions)

 

  • Reject

 

  1. Editorial Decision

 

The final decision on the manuscript (acceptance, revision, or rejection) is made by the Editor-in-Chief, based on the reviewers’ recommendations and the manuscript's overall quality. Authors are notified of the decision and receive anonymized reviewer comments.

 

  1. Revision and Resubmission

 

If revisions are requested, authors are expected to respond to each reviewer comment and submit a revised version within the specified timeframe. The revised manuscript may be returned to the original reviewers for further evaluation.

 

  1. Final Acceptance and Publication

 

Once a manuscript is accepted, it undergoes final editing and formatting before publication. All accepted articles are published in the upcoming issue according to the journal’s biannual schedule (June and December).
